How Website Hosting
Works
Before explaining how web hosting works, you must first know
what it is. Website hosting is the storage, connectivity, and
services necessary to serve files over the internet. In a
nutshell, it is a computer on a high speed connection that can
provide access to data public or privately.
Ok, so how does website hosting work?
Let's start from your point of view to this page you are reading
right now. When you connect to your ISP (internet service
provider), your ISP connects you to the internet, and then the
domain name (.com) you typed in allows you to find the server this
page is being stored on. The server takes this name and sorts
your request into the files stored for that specific domain
name. Now you're probably thinking: how is a word I type in
find a computer anywhere in the world? There is
supercomputers placed around the united states of America that
allow domain names to resolve into internet positions (IPs).
An IP is nothing less than internet coordinates that allows one
computer to find another. Provided these coordinates and a
reliable web host, you are able to view this page online from the
other side of the country or even world!
User Website Hosting Process:
1. Pick a domain name and activate hosting. (we offer free
domain registration) Your domain can take up to 48 hours
before it is fully online
2. Your web hosting company will provide you with information to
login and manage your website.
3. You are normally provided with FTP (File Transfer Protocol),
Control Panel, and E-Mail settings. Using your ftp client

pound signs with your domain and file names.
