How Domain Name Registration
Works
What is domain name registration?
Domain name registration is the legal purchase of an available
domain name such as "slwebsolutions.com" from a registrar. A
registrar is the wholesaling company that you purchase the domain
name registration from.
How does domain name registration work?
Once you have purchased your available domain name from your
chosen registrar it normally takes up to 48 hours for the purchase
to be complete. The domain name will require you to assign DNS
servers that can be provided by your host. These DNS servers allow
your domain name to lead to your website. Any change made to the
DNS servers on an active domain also normally take up to 48 hours
to process. DNS servers are associated with server IP(s) which
allow the server to locate your account.
